Some people just don’t test well

Congrats on not being a virus incubator! I choose the Geo Storm Kammback because I had a Geo Storm, loved it, but always wished I could have had this variant instead.

I got my nose tickled today for work. We have to get a test before every concert, and I developed a sore throat over the weekend. I don’t think it’s covid at all, but if it is, then I wanted to give the orchestra time to find a sub and get that person tested. Had this not been a global pandemic, I just would have played with a sore throat.

What a world we live in.

I, too, got my brain poked this morning after finding out I was directly exposed to s omeone who tested positive last week. I probably won’t have results until tomorrow at the earliest, but I’ve had no symptoms or fever since learning I was exposed.

same. no symptoms, but spent time with someone who the next day had symptoms, and a day later tested positive.

Although most folks would call it woefully underpowered, I thought it was a lot of fun to drive in that “slow car fast” kind of way. It was geared really low to make the most of the limited HP and torque. At 60 MPH on the highway, it would knock down 28-30 MPG. Take it up to 70 MPH, and the mileage dropped to around 24. It was meant for back roads, not highway cruising. By any modern standards (or the standards of the time) it was a crappy car. But I’d still like to have another. What I’d really love to have is the sister car of the time, the Isuzu Impulse with the AWD option.  I think less than 2000 of them made it to the states but they are super cool.

It really needs a wicker picnic basket and little checkered blanket.

Pretty much the same thing for me. Visited a brewery with a couple of folks in my Covid group Thursday night. Our server had a fever on Friday and then tested positive on Saturday. He beered us and chatted for a bit later in the evening  (he’s a mutual friend of ours). Fortunately we found out directly about his positive test pretty quickly and called off the Zombie ride that night before exposing the rest of our Covid group.

They started switching over the saliva here, which is great because it was a lot less traumatic the second time around for my wife and kids.

NM is doing a dual strategy these days. The easy rapid tests are being reserved for initial testing of folks with symptoms or for use in healthcare settings on admission where there is an index of suspicion.  All non-symptomatic testing is the full on deep brain pokage, and positive rapid results are also confimed with a deep brain poke.

So, did you have the ‘Rona, and now you’re probably over it?

I took the test a few weeks ago. No issues at all, easy simple swab. No ‘invasion’, ‘sneezing’ or ‘brain scratch’.

2 days later, Not Detected.

The guy laughed and said the rapid test are WAY up there and not a reliable test.
